Des Moines River (from Boone County north)
There are two reports covering the hydrogeology of the Des Moines River. GSB Open File Report 84-5 (Executive Summary) covers the East and West Forks of the Des Moines River from Boone County north to the Minnesota line. It contains a variety of data on geology and water quality, results of the seismic refraction surveys, and an extensive discussion of aquifer characteristics and water availability. GSB Technical Information Series 18 (Abstract) is a more detailed report on water quality, particularly related to agricultural chemicals, in the west fork of the Des Moines River from Humboldt County north through Palo Alto County.
